What Started WWI?
  • So many things happened to Germany. Like
    nationalism and imperialism. In 1872, Germany
    alliance with Russia and Austria-Hungary. Europe
    had reached its breaking point when on June 28th
    , 1914, Archduke Francis Ferdinand, heir to the
    Austria-Hungarian throne, was assassinated in
    Sarajevo, Bosnia, by a Serbian nationalist
    belonging to an organization known as the Black
    Hand. Immediately following the assassination
    Germany pledged its full support to
    Austria-Hungary, pressuring them to declare war
    on Serbia, while France strengthened its backing
    of Russia.

    Russia, Italy, and Japan. Most Americans favored
    staying out of the conflict. But, they eventually
    entered WWI.

The Treaty of Versailles
  • WW1 ended on November 11, 1918 with the
  • Treaty of Versailles. It ended the war and
  • prevented the use of secret treaties. There
  • were a total of 440 clauses in this treaty.
