Types of Blood Cancer
  • Blood cancer can be classified into three
    types namely,
  • 1. Leukemia- rate of blood formation reduces
  • 2. Lyphoma- white blood corpuscles are
    affected
  • 3. Mylemoa-occurs when the formation of plasma
can be hampered by cancer cells.

4
Symptoms
  • Tremendous weakness and fatigue
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Abnormal blood reports
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Chronic infection

5
Treatment Modalities
  • Blood cancer can be treated by using three
    different approaches including,
  • Intensive treatment
  • Non-intensive treatment
  • Non-curative treatment

6
Intensive Approach
  • Intensive treatment approach includes
    following methods
  • High-dose chemotherapy (in which the patient is
given high-dose drugs either orally or
    intravenously to kill leukemia cells).
  • Radiation therapy(in which, leukemia cells can
be destroyed and further growth can be stopped
with the help of high energy radiation).
  • Stem cell transplantation( in which the entire
bone marrow of the patient is replaced),
  • Immune therapy and targeted therapy.

7
Non-Intensive Approach
  • Non-intensive treatment approach include
    methods such as
  • Low-dose chemotherapy
  • Immunotherapies

8
Non-curative approach
  • The non-curative approach is used when the
operating medical team are of the view that the
patient to be treated will not be able to cope
with strong treatments. In such cases, the
patient is advised to undergo a gentler approach
that allows for faster recovery and better
    quality of life.
