The Trust Buster
  • Trusta group of separate companies that are
    placed under the control of a single managing
    board.
  • 1902-ordered the Justice Department to prosecute
    Northern Securities Company (400 million)
  • Monopolized R.R. lines in the Northwest.

  • 1st President to use Sherman Anti-Trust Act
  • Sherman Anti-Trust Act law passed by Congress
    that outlawed any combination of companies that
    restricted interstate commerce
  • Fed Court ordered Northern Securities dissolved.
  • Supreme Court upheld that.

    Commission (ICC).

    medicine
  • Meat Act govt would monitor the quality and
    safety of meat being sold
