• Took over Egypt in 1640 BC
• Invited Hebrew to live in Egypt
• Egyptian warriors drive them out the Hyksos out
  of Egypt. The Hebrews stay and are enslaved.

New Kingdom Egypt

• Pharaohs wanted to make Egypt strong by
  conquering others
• Hatshepsut made Egypt strong through trade
• Her stepson Thutmose III conquered Syria,
  Palestine, and Nubia

Decline of the Empire

• Sea Peoples began to invade Egypt
• Palestine invaded from the North
• Libyan invaded from the west
• Empire falls into small kingdoms

Kushites

• Lived in Nubia
• They adopted Egyptian culture (language, gods,
  clothing styles)
• Upon the decline of the Empire they tried to
  preserve Egyptian values

Kushites

• Their capital Meroe had lots of iron ore and
  rainfall
• Made weapons and tools
• Sold these for jewelry, cotton, lamps, and
  silver from India and Arabia
