What changed? Charter Schools
  • Current charter schools may convert to Schools of
    Excellence
  • 10 new charter schools may be authorized if
    approved by the State Superintendent
  • Two new cyber school charters may be authorized
  • Charter schools on the PLA list may be closed

    instruction, professional development, data,
    extended time

  • Goals will be set and reviewed throughout the
    year
  • Metrics will include statewide assessment, school
    level data on student growth, and other data
  • PLA and Top-to-Bottom list will be issued
    annually
  • Annual report to the Legislature required
