Community College Mission
  • Prince George's Community College, an accessible,
    community-based, culturally diverse college,

An Accessible Webpage
  • Created in 2002 under a Title III grant
  • Created for General Psychology students
  • Brings together information on writing APA
    papers, careers in psychology, common topics in
    psychology and research opportunities
  • It is a one-stop shop.
  • In 2003, the webpage was redesigned to make it
    accessible under the Americans with Disabilities
    Act

What Did This Accomplish?
  • Gave psychology instructors at PGCC (and other
    schools) easy access to information.
  • Eliminated having to photocopy and repeat
    information each term.
  • Easy to update
  • Gives the College wider visibility

The Academy for Women
  • 12 week program for women 16 and over
  • In partnership with local trainer
  • Goal is to foster a healthy lifestyle and
    introduce new ways of incorporating exercise
  • Includes mini-lectures on goal setting,
    motivation, information literacy as well as group
    support
