Abstract
  • The objective of this work is to show the
    operation of a system that allows monitoring,
    controlling and configuring a wireless
    household-electric network. The user interface of
    this system is done through a Personal Digital
    Assistant (PDA).

MOTIVATION
  • A key motivation for use of wireless
    technology is the reduction in installation cost,
    since new wiring is not needed. Also, wireless
    network transmits information with minimal
    installation effort. Consequently it has reduced
    maintenance costs.

Modifications in the household-electric
  • 1. Circuits that receive a signal from the HC-08
    toclose or to open a key.
  • 2.Circuits that read the state of the LEDs in the
    machine and send them to the HC-08.
  • 3.Circuits that verify the switch of the
    machines lid and send this signal for the HC-08.

CONCLUSIONS
  • The results make evident the viability of
    monitoring andcontrolling household-electric
    using wireless communication network and PDA user
    interface. The
  • developed architecture allows the substitution of
    the userinterface of a household-electric for an
    equivalent virtual interface. An advantage of
    this new interface is that it will make possible
    the increasing of the security level of the
    household-electric use, through the exhibition of
    a variety of information about the appliance
    lack of water, energy overload, unbalancing load,
    etc
