Matcha Waffles Recipe Vegan Gluten Free
Waffles
Greatly nourishing matcha is the pulverised form
of green tea which is all the rave these days
for its superior antioxidant and detoxification
powers and many other health benefits. Adding
matcha to your waffle turns this into a super
healthy breakfast, let alone its delicious
taste. These bright green waffles are rich in
fiber and packed with vitamin C , selenium,
chromium, zinc and magnesium. They are an
instant provider of energy and are wonderfully
light and crispy.

M ATCHA WAFFLES
  • Preparation time 10 mins
  • Cooking time 10 mins Total time 20 mins
    Serves 4-5 people Ingredients
  • Coconut milk ( unsweetened) - 1 cup
  • Apple cider vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • Gluten free flour - 2 cups
  • Sugar - ¼ cup
  • Shredded coconut ( unsweetened ) - ½ cup
  • Baking powder - 2 tsp
  • Matcha green tea powder - 1 tbsp
  • Kosher salt - 1 tsp
  • Melted coconut oil - ¼ cup
  • Alternatively, you may use premix for eggless
    dark chocolate waffles which is a readymade
    blend of main ingredients. Add flour, sugar and
    milk as per the instructions given on the label.

  • Instructions
  • Preheat the waffle iron and grease it with
    coconut oil.
  • Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and
    keep it aside.
  • Mix the coconut milk and vinegar together in a
    separate bowl.
  • Simply pour content from each bowl into a
    blender, add the remaining coconut oil to it and
    process until you have a thick but smooth
    batter, studded with coconut.
  • Scoop the batter in the hot waffle iron to fill
    the cavities and spread evenly and cook for some
    time till it becomes golden brown. At this stage
    the waffle becomes crispy.
  • Serve it hot with toppings of fruits, almonds or
    coconut yogurt. You may also spread some matcha
    milk jam for extra green tea flavour and top it
    with maple syrup.
