- 2008 Directors' Conference
- Payback
- Service Payback can begin after the scholar has
completed one full year of courses/training (18
credits) if the scholar is in the position of
SPED teacher from that point on. - .

5Meeting the Challenge
2008 Directors' Conference
- Grant funds rollover/continuation
- At the end of the Grant period, December 2009, we
can apply for a "no-cost extension" or rollover
of any remaining funds if the reasons for unspent
funds are - inability to recruit the number of scholars in
the allotted time - actual costs were lower than anticipated
- the grant supported more part-time than full-time
scholars - a late start-up due to the original funding date
-
6Meeting the Challenge
- 2008 Directors' Conference
- Service Obligation tracking
- Beginning in September 2008, STS (Scholar
Tracking System), has a contract with OSEP to
monitor scholar payback. - This years emphasis was on the budget
- OSEP allows grants to extend (roll over) the
grant funds at no cost for the first year. - Grantees must dedicate 65 of the funds on direct
student services. - OSEP wants grantees to spend down 80 or more of
total grant funding per grant year.
