On-Campus Recruiting
  • Fall Semester 2007
  • Late September November 2007
  • Interviews throughout the semester depending on
    major and career interest
  • Intern, co-op and full-time interviews will often
    be held on-campus at the same time
  • Differences in requirements and schedules will be
    detailed on-line

Types of Campus InterviewsPre-select Interview
  • An interview in which students/alumni who meet
    the event requirements submit resumes on-line to
    the employer. The employer reviews the resumes
    and then chooses the candidates.
  • Preselect candidates students who are chosen as
    the employers first choice for interview
  • Alternates candidates students who are chosen as
    second choice by the employer
  • Other eligible candidates candidates that are
    qualified, but are not selected by the employer.
    These candidates may sign-up five days before.

Significant Trigger Dates
  • Sign-ups begin 3-4 weeks prior to the visit
    depending on whether its a preselect or open
    event.
  • Please refer to the MU Career Manager
    instructions for a complete listing of resume
    submission and signup deadlines.

Company Pre-Meetings/ Presentations
  • Employers profile their organization before the
    actual interview.
  • Recruiters encourage attendance from students,
    particularly those on the interview schedule.
  • Students find this a good way to connect with
    company representatives who arent necessarily
    recruiting for your major.
  • Business casual dress is acceptable.
  • Presentations are available on MU Career Manager.

Transcripts
  • You can obtain a copy from the Registrars Office
    (Marquette Hall 310) and make additional copies
    yourself.
  • Cost is 5.00. (same-day charge is 10).
  • If transcripts are required, bring a copy to the
    interview.

Applications
  • Some employers require application forms to be
    filled out in addition to the resume.
  • Be thorough and accurate.
  • Bring the completed form to the interview.
  • Many applications are available on-line or in
    Career Services Center filed under company name.
  • Some applications wont be available until the
    day of the interview.

No-Show Policy
  • A no-show is defined as canceling an interview
    less than 24 hours before the interview.
  • You are able to cancel an interview up to two
    days prior to the visit on-line. After that,
    please contact the Career Center.
  • Two no-shows will disqualify you from further
    interviewing.
  • We require a written letter of apology to the
    employer explaining the reason for your absence.
