• Weigh purpose of project against feasibility and
  cost
• Reality testing of idea against technology youll
  be using and the abilities you have
• add, subtract, add, subtract
• If idea has merit, take the next step

• What is the purpose and message?
• How can you organize the project?
• What multimedia elements will best deliver the
  message?
• Is some of the content material already created?
• Does a non-multimedia version of the idea already
  exist or will the idea need to be created from
  scratch?
• What hardware is available for development of
  project? Is it enough?
• How much storage do you have? How much do you
  need?
• What hardware will be available to end users?
• What software is available for development?
• Do you have skills for the available hardware and
  software?
• Can you do it alone?
• How much time do you have?
• How much money do you have?
• How will you distribute the final project?

• Goals

  outcomes (global in scope and not measurable)
• Objectives
• specific statements of anticipated project
  outcomes (measurable--tied to evaluation)
• Activities
• actions, things done to implement an objective
  with time frame, measurable

• What is the purpose of the proposed application?
• What are you trying to accomplish?
• What is the expected result?
• Everything in project should point toward
  accomplishing the purpose.

Defining the Production Schedule

• For each activity, list deadline and person
  responsible (for your projects, you are always
  the responsible person)
• Some of your activities may need to be broken
  down into smaller activities
• Example develop tutorial requires lots of
  littler steps but you might not know them until
  later
• Lots of useful information in book for multiple
  person projects

• Introduction (summary of problem, proposed
  application and anticipated outcomes)

• should include documents described in chapter 5
