  • 1100 respondents/10 million of inhabitants
  • For survey focused on a regional level (12
    regions) the sample was extended to 1625
    respondents
  • October to December 2005
  • Questions were prepared by Czech Institute of
    Criminology and Social Prevention
  • Survey done by agency Factum Invenio

Opinion on crime causes
  • Method list of 25 suggested criminogenic
    factors (causes) with the influence to crime
    development, respondents attached marks to each
    of them on 1 5 scale (1 very low influence,
    5 very high influence)
  • RESULTS
  • 1. Drugs - score 4,3
  • No influence of age (the same score of
    youngsters (15 21) - 4,31, young adults (4,32)
    and seniors (4,32)
  • 2. Violence in media score 4,09 It
    differs a lot according age
  • 3. Alcohol abuse score 4, 05
  • 6. Unemployment score 3,95
  • 12. Immigration score 3,70
  • 16. Crisis of a family score 3,59
  • 18. Poverty score 3,44
