Go to the Library Home page at
www.Germanna.edu/library and click on VCCSLinc
for Germannas Online Catalog.

Choose the type of search you wish to do from the
drop-down menu. Enter your search term in the
search box and click Go.

When you get a list of records, be sure to check
those records for the location (Locust Grove,
Fredericksburg, or Culpeper) and the type and
availability (Circulating, Reference, Online,
A-V) of the item.

• If you do not find any matches for your search
• Check your spelling
• Try a more general or a more specific search
  term, or

use advanced search terms, and operators such
as and, or, not.

You can see more complete information about any
item by clicking on the record number.

Within the complete record, you will find related
subject headings, contents notes, location
information, and more. If you click on the
location

you may place a Hold on an item by clicking on
Request this item. Use your myGCC login
information to sign in and place the request.
The item will be sent to the campus of your
choice for pick up within 24 hours.

Or, you may request that circulating books be
held for you at a particular campus by contacting
a librarian for assistance or by submitting an
online request form.

Through our online request form system, you will
see that you can also ask for items not owned by
Germanna.

If the book you are looking for is not in our
collection you can search other libraries by
clicking Library Catalogs

to access Other College Libraries, WorldCat (a
catalog of books, web resources, and other
materials world wide), and Local Public Libraries.

Once you find an item you wantreturn to the
Library Home page, Library Request Forms and fill
out the appropriate form.

• Reference books and audio-visual material may be
  moved from one campus to another for your use in
  the library.
• Online books may be accessed directly through the
  catalog.
• Online books available through VIVA or VCCS may
  be accessed with your myGCC user ID and password.
  
• Online books available through NetLibrary require
  a separate user ID and password. NetLibrary
  accounts needs to be initiated on a library
  computer.
