  • pTEC is the post secondary institute of the
    Pinellas County School System
  • pTEC consists of two campuses, one located in
    Clearwater and the other in St. Petersburg

  • pTEC-Clearwater was the first technical center
    established in the State of Florida in 1965
  • We are accredited by the Council on Occupational
    Education (COE) and the Southern Association of
    Colleges and Schools (SACS)
  • Many individual programs have additional
    accreditation specific to the career field

  • Full-time tuition is approximately 500 each term

Admissions Requirements
  • 16 years of age
  • Not enrolled in secondary school
  • Able to attend school Monday-Friday
  • Clearwater Campus 700 AM to 1215 PM
  • St. Petersburg Campus 730 AM to 1245 PM
  • Some programs (i.e. Practical Nursing) have
    additional admissions criteria

  • Most programs accept new students each fee period
  • August 19, 2008
  • October 23, 2008
  • January 15, 2009
  • March 24, 2009
  • June 4, 2009
  • Pay 15 application fee
  • Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE)

TABE Testing Schedule(Testing time is
approximately 2.5 hours)
Persons needing special accommodations must
schedule at least 48 hours in advance of desired
test date. Documentation of disability must be
provided at time of request.

Enrollment Continued
  • Meet with a counselor
  • Review TABE test results
  • Complete enrollment paperwork
  • Complete instructor interview/program shadowing
    if required
  • Pay 50 advance deposit
  • or
  • Pay tuition and fees in full
