Who Am I
  • Graduated from Perryville High School in 1990.
  • Husband is Michael.
  • Two children Carissa is 15 and Colin is 9.
  • Certified in Elementary Education and Special
    Education.
  • Love spending time with family and friends and
    of course love teaching!
  • Enjoy nature, the outdoors, gardening, and
    reading.

Explanation of Discipline PolicyStaying on
the Right Trail
  • Each child starts the day with five Popsicle
    sticks.
  • The consequence of pulling a stick is as follows
  • 1st time receives verbal warning with statement
    of correct behavior. Loses
    star stick but can still receive sticker for
    the day.
  • 2nd time loses 5 minutes of recess
  • 3rd time teachers choice
  • 4th time contact parents
  • 5th time visit office
  • If 2 or more sticks are pulled during the day,
  • the reason will be written in your childs
    planner.

Explanation of Discipline PolicyProspecting
for Gold
  • This is a team effort where the class will
    work together to earn rewards.
  • When the class is displaying good citizenship
    they will earn gold nuggets. These nuggets can
    also be taken away.
  • When the jar is full
  • the class be rewarded!

Classroom Procedures
  • Home folder This folder will come home nightly.
  • Home side - stays home
  • School side - comes back
  • Library Books returned on Monday
  • Work folder usually sent home on Monday.
  • Daily Planners (filled out everyday)

Homework
Homework should take between 20-30 minutes per
night.
  • Read (15 minutes each night) parent/adult must
    sign minutes and initial in planner each evening.
  • Reading Assignment (Tuesday night) leveled
    readers and poetry journal sent home must be
    returned the next day (This counts for 15
    minutes.)
  • Math Side B (Class Practice). Later in the
    year there will also be side B of a fact sheet
    (Lesson 30) or math fact cards to practice.
  • Word Wall Words 5 new words each week.
    Practice as needed for test on Fridays.

Snacks / Water Bottles
  • Your child may bring a snack to eat each day.
    Please make sure they are not messy. Gum and
    candy are not allowed.
  • Drink bottles can contain water only. They will
    be refilled each day after recess.

Birthdays Classroom Parties
  • Birthdays - We will celebrate in the classroom
    with treats and song. Summer birthdays will be
    honored on childs ½ birthday. You are welcome to
    send a treat.
  • Christmas Party will be held on December 21, 2007
    from 1000-1055 a.m.
  • Valentines Day although there is no official
    party, we do exchange Valentines.
