Friday Writing Log
  • The students work on creating a friendly letter
every week. They brainstorm all the awesome
activities we did all week. Then they write a
letter home. Please read the letter each week
and write a letter back to your son/daughter.
The kids learn so much about writing and they
really look forward to what you write back to
    them.

6
Lead 21
  • Spelling Lists-the student works on a skill for
    the week
  • There are different themes that we will cover
each unit. We will start with Changes.

7
NYS ELA and MathTEST Some Answers to your
Questions
  • WHO? Every 3rd grade student in New York State
  • What? The test covers all the skills that the
students have been working on during the year.
  • Why? To find out our strengths and weaknesses in
    ELA and Math
  • Test Dates? ELA March 27, 28 and 29
  • Math May 1, 2, and 3

8
Handwriting
  • We will be practicing our handwriting
  • We will learn all our cursive letters
  • The students will each receive a handwriting
    book.

9
Math
  • The district adopted Envision Math. This
program helps align with the common core. I will
send home math homework after I taught the
lesson. I will let the students know when they
will have a test so they can review at home.
You can always do the re-teaching side of the
math sheet to help your son/daughter before they
    complete the practice side.
  • Practicing flash cards is very valuable.

10
TO WRAP IT UP
  • IT WILL BE AN EXCITING YEAR AND I LOOK FORWARD
    TO TEACHING/LEARNING WITH YOUR CHILDREN!
