Title: Welcome to 7th Grade Pre-Algebra

1
Welcome to 7th GradePre-Algebra
  • With
  • Mrs. Mockenhaupt

2
Classroom Rules
  • 1.) Be Prompt
  • 2.) Be Prepared
  • 3.) Be Polite
  • 4.) Be Persistent
  • 5.) Be Proud

3
Suggested Materials
  • Spiral notebook for notes
  • One colored folder for hand-outs (match the color
to your notebook if possible for organizational
    purposes)
  • 3 sharpened pencils or lead pencils (at all
    times)
  • Eraser
  • Colored pencil for correcting
  • Dry erase pen and sock (eraser) for use with
    whiteboards.
  • Other than dry erase pens, math will ALWAYS use
pencil. NO PENS allowed. If you choose to write
in pen, you will be asked to do the work over in
    pencil.

4
Daily Procedures
  • When class begins, have your homework out and
    ready to correct.
  • Copy homework assignment into your agenda book.
  • Write the lesson title and date on the first line
in your spiral. Begin solving daily review and be
    ready to answer.
  • Take notes on the days lesson/work on lesson
either with a partner or individually.

5
Class Notes
  • You are permitted to use notes on tests and some
quizzes so it is important to take excellent
notes. If I take the time to write something on
the board, chances are it is something that needs
    to be in your notes.

6
Homework
  • Homework is assigned every night, and on Fridays
if class work is not done.
  • Homework is expected to be completed by the time
    the tardy bell rings.
  • Always show all of your work.
  • No Work No Credit, ½ work ½ credit
  • Homework MUST be done in pencil. You have one day
to make up homework unless you have been absent.
Then you get the amount of days absent to make it
    up.

7
Absences
  • If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to
first check my website for homework, then check
with me for missing class work if there is any.
You have as many days as you were absent to make
    up the work.

  • If you missed a test or a quiz, you will need to
schedule a time to come in at lunch, to make it
    up.

8
Extra Help
  • If you need additional help with the topics we
are learning, I am available at lunch or after
school by appointment only. Just make sure to let
me know you are coming so that I make myself
available. Asking for help is never a bad thing.
