  facilitator of learning and manager of
  instructional resources
• Redefinition of the students role from being a
  passive recipient of instructional treatment to

  multi-directional teacher-student,
  student-student, student-ICT interaction

Insights and Lessons Learned

• Expanding the use of ICT in schools should
  consider the following
• Start off with a needs assessment to identify
  gaps or development areas.
• Do advocacy to generate acceptance of ICT use.
• Build the capacity of teachers to prepare them
  for the integration of ICT in teaching and
  learning. Provide instructional support through
  coaching and mentoring to enhance teacher
  confidence and competence.

• Sustain the process of integration by giving
  incentives to effective teachers.
• Ensure that technical assistance is readily
  available in school.
• Use ICT only as a tool, a means to an end.
