Whats the deal with recycling at Lafayette?

• Several Myths Exist on Campus
• Lafayette does not recycle
• Trucks can be seen at Plant Ops picking up
  recycling
• Recycling can only occur if contamination is kept
  to a minimum
• A little bit does not make a difference
• Recycling 1 aluminum can 3 hours power for a
  TV
• This pile is composed of small pieces!
• Students will extend what they learn
  now to the rest of their time at Lafayette
  and life after

What Can Be Recycled?

• Cans
• Aluminum cans, tin cans
• Glass
• Clear and colored
• Plastics
• 1 and 2
• Number listed on bottom
• All of these go in the blue or sometimes gray
  bins with clear plastic bags located next to
  trash cans in each residence hall and on campus

More That Can Be Recycled

• Paper
• White or colored office paper
• Glossy paper
• Junk mail
• Magazines and catalogs
• All can go in rectangular recycle bins located on
  the ground floor of each residence hall
• Newspaper
• Blue bins marked newspaper on the ground floor
  of each residence hall
