Executive Summary Project Description The CEM
Science Building and College Center Addition and
Renovations includes a 15,000 square foot
addition and major renovations and upgrades to
both buildings. The addition is attached to the
east side of the existing College Center
building. This additional space along with
renovated space within the building will become
the new location for the Learning Resource
Center, currently housed in the CEM Science
Building. Renovations in the CEM Science
Building include new instructional laboratories
for Chemistry, Biology and Physical Science.
Other Math and Science lecture spaces are also
upgraded with the addition of instructor office
space. Renovations to both buildings include
significant upgrades to the current Mechanical
and Electrical systems. Both roof systems will
be replaced along with minor site work to support
the new addition.
Progress to Date College Center Addition
Structural Steel erection has been completed.
Steel roof decking has been installed over the
addition as well. Exterior masonry walls are
complete. Temporary enclosure has been installed
for interior work to continue. Plumbing
rough-ins are ongoing and the roofing is nearly
complete. College Center Renovations
Mechanical and Electrical demolition is complete.
MEP in wall rough-ins are complete. M/E
inspection approvals have been received and
drywall partitions have been completed. Ductwork
is complete within this area. Above ceiling
mechanical and electrical rough ins continue
along with fire protection piping. Door frames
have been installed throughout. CEM Building
Renovations Mechanical and Electrical Rough-ins
continue on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Floors, along
with the work within the shaft and Boiler Room.
New masonry and drywall partitions have been
completed on all floors. New door frames are
currently being installed on the upper floors.
Fire protection piping is being installed on the
4th floor. Fire alarm rough-ins continue on
upper floors.

Project Schedule Summary CEM Building
Renovations Mechanical and Electrical rough-ins
continue, along with the new interior masonry and
metal stud walls. Corridor ductwork has been
installed along with HHW piping.
Electrical/mechanical inspections have been
received and final drywall and masonry wall
patching is ongoing on upper floors. A
coordination meeting was held for the relocation
of the FM Tower to accommodate the installation
of the roof top mechanical equipment. Fire
protection piping is ongoing on the 4th
floor. The new watermain has been installed and
connections made to the citys main. College
Center Addition and Renovations Structural
steel erection is complete and metal roof
decking has been installed. Exterior masonry and
stud walls are complete and roofing is
ongoing. Temporary enclosures have been
installed to allow interior work to
continue. Roof drains and piping is currently
being installed within the addition. Underground
rough ins to begin in February to support
concrete slab placement. New interior
stud/drywall and masonry walls have been
completed within the existing building. MEP
rough-ins have proceeded to support wall
installation. Contractor Construction Progress
Meetings are currently scheduled for 1000AM on
the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each Month. The
Executive Overview Committee Meetings are
currently scheduled for 230PM on the 2nd and 4th
Thursdays of each Month.

Project Status Report Attachments Current Status
Review The Architectural and Engineering design
is complete. Shop drawings and Request for
Information Forms are currently being submitted
to the A/E for review and approval. All items
are on schedule. Construction progress is
identified on attached construction schedule as
well as following manpower chart. There has been
no safety issues on the project. Contractors
have submitted required safety manuals and MSDS.
These items are located within the College Center
Construction Office.
The delivery/erection delay of the structural
steel for the College Center has impacted that
portion of the project schedule. Full extent of
the impact to overall milestone schedule is
unknown. Scheduling meetings continue with all
trades.
