• Ruler within the ocular lens of the microscope

Review Magnification

• Magnification- object viewed becomes larger
• Magnification under the compound microscope
• Ocular lens- 10x
• Objectives- 4x, 10x, 40x
• Multiply ocular by objective to calculate total
  magnification
• 10 x 4 40
• 10 x 10 100
• 10 x 40 400

In this lab, high power is 400x, low power is 100x

Review Field of Vision

• Field of Vision- total area that you are able to
  view under the microscope
• Field of view becomes smaller as you increase
  magnification
