Revision of Academic Programs
  • Completing the revision process of Computer
    Science program
  • Submission to the academic Committee before the
    end of 051
  • Preparation for implementation in 052
  • Implementation of revised approved program from

  • Revision of Software Engineering program
  • Revision should be according to CC2005
    recommendations for SWE education
  • SWE and CS program should be well aligned
  • Revised SWE program should be submitted to the
    ICS Council by the end of March 2006
  • Revised SWE program should be submitted to the
    CCSE Council by the end of April 2006

Revision of Academic Programs
  • Technical electives list is not very flexible.
    The list should be made as flexible as possible
  • Rather than calling technical electives, it
    should be named as general electives
  • Updating the ICS Labs
  • Publicizing the CS and SWE programs

Research
  • Every faculty member should publish at least two
    papers
  • Department should try to get 3 or 4 distinguished
    professors/associate professors during the year
    2005-06
  • No more hiring of lecturers

Continuing Education
  • Three reasons for weak continuing education in
    the College of Computer Sciences and Engineering
  • Incentives for faculty to offer short courses are
    insufficient
  • Current course marketing strategies are not
    effective
  • Many good faculty of the college got busy with
    other university wide activities
  • These factors should be improved to revive the
    continuing education in the college

Accreditation
  • The department should be ready for any
    accreditation
  • International (ABET/CSAB)
  • Local (Self assessment)
  • Since the college has online course files, it
    should be ensured that all course files should be
    up-to-date
