• The first Endangered Species Act was September of
  1973.
• The reason the Endangered Species Act was
  established was to protect the ecosystems of
  endangered and threatened species.
• It was also to provide a means of protecting the
  endangered and threatened species themselves.

The Life of the Emperor Penguin

• The Emperor penguin lives on the Antarctica
  coast.
• The penguins meals consist of krill and squid
• The Emperor penguin can swim up to 60k/hr and can
  dive 534m for a male in 16 minutes and for a
  female in 15 minutes they can dive 477m.

Why the Emperor Penguin Is Special

• There are 3,000 couples of the empire penguin.
  However in the 60s there were 7,000.
• Even though the number of couples has gone down
  they are still wonderful to see, and it is
  important for us to try and make the number of
  couples go up.
