Selecting a Placement
  • Consider the sectors of industry you are
    interested in
  • Consider locations - can you cope with living
    away from home?
  • Remember the first job offer you receive you
    must accept this is the Universitys policy

  • Having made your choices make sure you have
    availed of every opportunity to find out about
    the placement prior to interview
  • Once you have made your choice you will not be
    allowed to change your mind!!

3. Code of Conduct
  • 5 General Rules
  • Your responsibility to cooperate fully, and
    complete forms as appropriate
  • If you opt to secure your own placement, inform
    the Placement Office immediately and complete
    appropriate form
  • All placements must be approved by ME!
  • Behave in professional manner
  • Attend timetabled placement lectures

  • Submit copies of correspondence with employers
  • Be patient process takes time
  • You must start placement on date agreed 48 wks
  • Once job offer made, submit details of salary,
    dates, training programme
  • You must be in good academic standing before
    commencing placement

  • Selecting and Securing a placement

  • 6 applications at a time
  • You must attend interviews
  • If you have extenuating circumstances that result
    in you changing your mind, you must inform the
    office immediately, and before a firm offer has
    been made
  • You must accept 1st offer made to you
  • You cannot leave a placement without Placement
    Tutors permission.entry to year 4 will not be
    permitted
  • Compliance with code is mandatory
