  • Integration and partnership are not sideshows

  • Emphasis more joint approaches to
    commissioning, market, finance, inspection,
    strategic needs assessment, workforce
    development, Community Ventures etc
  • LAA, PBC, Public Health, Care Outside Hospital
  • Citizenship, Choice, Risk and Responsibility

Why?
  • Aim To achieve better outcomes for service
    users but there are problems of evidence.
  • Most evidence is on processes not outcomes of
    partnerships
  • Partnerships are not an end in themselves!

  • Agreement on finance and assets
  • Joint approach to management of human resources
  • Clear governance and accountability arrangements
  • Partnership with service users
  • Regular monitoring and evaluation
  • Explicit timescales and future planning
    arrangements

  • Dont forget about the culture for leadership!
