Method of Instruction

• Class will be taught like US Law School
• Socratic Question and Answer
• Class Will be Taught in English!
• Panels 4-5 Students will be notified in advance
  they will be on panel for next class
• Anyone can participate anytime
• Dont be self-conscious about your English

• Mandatory Background Must read these at some
  time not before a specific class
• Mandatory Class Readings must be read before a
  specific class
• Optional background readings not required, but
  will help

Exam Part 1

• One exam at end of entire semester
• Time limit may bring English-German dictionary
  but not any form of legal dictionary
• Issue-spotter and essays
• Sample exams and answers already on website from
  2001-2002.
• Will cover all material discussed in class and
  all mandatory readings.

Exam Part 2

• You do not have to recall case names
• You do have to recall rules and principles
• Legal questions on exam may or may not have 1
  correct answer
• You will receive confidential exam number. I
  will not know whose exam I am grading.

How to prepare

• Take notes on cases and readings
• May help to brief cases examples will be
  posted on website
• May help to outline class
• Pay close attention to facts of case and the
  specific details of the lawsuit
• Ask in class or during office hours about unclear
  terms/phrases

Attendance

• I will circulate sign-in sheet
• Those who show up to class will do better.
• 4-5 students who participate frequently and
  insightfully will receive extra credit
• Speak loudly and clearly we all want to hear
  you
