What are HOT Lanes?

• Congestion-free lanes for carpools, buses,
  those who choose to pay a toll
• Tolls prices rise and fall based on real-time
  traffic levels to manage number of cars in the
  lanes
• Designed to remain congestion-free, even during
  rush hour

How HOT Lanes work

• Free to HOV-3, buses, motorcycles emergency
  vehicles
• Not an every day toll road motorists choose to
  pay a toll only when they need a faster, more
  reliable trip
• Electronic tolling with E-ZPass no toll booths,
  stopping or slowing down
• Electronic signs display latest toll rates
• Drivers lock in toll rates

Capital Beltway
