of Headship
  • The key purpose of headship is to provide the
    leadership and management which enables a school
    to give every pupil high quality education and
    which promotes the highest possible standards of
    achievement.

Criteria
  • GTC registered
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Through current post
  • Demonstrate some knowledge and understanding of
    leadership and management
  • Be effective and committed practitioners
  • Show commitment to PRD and its impact on
    performance
  • Have recorded an interest in management through
    the PRD process
  • Applying for HT post within 5 years
  • Exemplify well developed communication and
    interpersonal skills
  • Have experience in carrying out management and
    leadership at project, team and whole school
    level
  • Demonstrate commitment to the corporate life of
    the school
  • Have access to an appropriate work environment to
    undertake the whole school leadership tasks
    associated with the Programme
  • Have a full supportive reference from the Head
    Teacher
  • Receive sponsorship of the LA through approved
    interview and selection procedures.
