Project Objectives

• Contribute to improving the health and well-being
  of Aboriginal men living in NSW by
• increasing their access to services
• assisting in the establishment of Aboriginal
  men's groups in areas across NSW
• identifying positive programs/projects and
  services catering for Aboriginal men and
• networking existing Aboriginal men's groups in
  NSW

Guiding Principles

• Prevention and early intervention strategies
• Focus on supporting families and enhancing the
  role and function of Aboriginal men within the
  family
• Engaging Aboriginal men more effectively in
  looking after their health and the health of
  their communities
• Acknowledging and enhancing the considerable
  resilience that exists within Aboriginal
  communities

Aboriginal Mens Groups

• Currently there around 35 Aboriginal Mens Groups
  in NSW that focus on varying issues, that can
  include
• Drug and Alcohol Abuse,
• Domestic Violence,
• Social/Emotional Wellbeing,
• Promoting a healthier lifestyle,
• Referral service,

  and are structured to suit their individual
