Title: Different types of COVID 19 Test for Travel - Covid Clinic
1Different Types of COVID-19 Test for Travel?
2The FDA has authorized more than 225 diagnostic
tests for COVID-19 since the start of the
pandemic, including more than 25 tests that
allow for the home collection of samples, which
are then sent to a lab for testing.
3What Are The Types Of Rapid Tests?
Diagnostic Tests Molecular and antigen tests
are types of diagnostic tests that can detect if
you have an active COVID-19 infection. Samples
for diagnostic tests are typically collected
with a nasal or throat swab, or saliva collected
by spitting into a tube. Antibody tests look
for antibodies in your immune system produced in
response to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes
COVID-19. Antibody tests should not be used to
diagnose an active COVID-19 infection.
4What Is
A RT-PCR Test?
The Rapid RT-PCR COVID-19 Test has been released
under FDA Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for
the detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2
and can be used in applications that require
molecular/ RT-PCR testing. Please consult your
state health department for additional
information regarding specific uses.
5Rapid RT-PCR COVID-19 Test (Best For Travel)
-Results are usually available within one hour
(1 day in Nevada) -Complies with the majority of
travel restrictions -Collected with a nasal swab
from the anterior nares (front of the nose
only). -Some travel locations will not accept
test findings obtained through the anterior
nares. Prior to purchasing, patients should
confirm that this test is appropriate for their
travel needs.
6Will You Get A Refund If You Miss Your
Appointment?
Since orders do not expire, a patient is able to
cancel their appointment and still be tested at
their earliest convenience. If a patient has
purchased a test and no longer wishes to be
tested, the Help Center can confirm that
services were not rendered and cancel the order.
Can we please confirm the patients name and
order number?
