Losing weight is easy, but maintaining the body
of your dreams seems to be nearly impossible for
most people. Youve lost weight multiple times
throughout your life. In fact, there was even a
time when you achieved your ideal weight. But
what happens every time? You gain it all back,
and then some. There are four key reasons this
weight-loss, weight-gain cycle has continued and
if these reasons arent addressed, its going to
continue for the rest of your life.
3
Reason 1 Diets that cause big weight loss
quickly are never sustainable.
The human body and mind are capable of doing
incredible things when they have laser focus.
The reason youve been able to lose weight
quickly with your previous diets is that you
decided you were going to do it and nothing would
stop you. Each time youve gone off with a new
set of instructions from a new book, a new talk
show host, or maybe even a doctor it worked. Why?
Because no matter how tough the process or
painful the methods you were so focused on the
end result that you plowed through it all anyway.
The problem is that laser focus is not something
that most people can maintain for a lifetime.
4
Reason 2 You lost a lot of the weight doing
cardio.
Running on a treadmill for hours a day is a great
short-term solution to losing some weight when
you have a great diet, limit your calories, and
avoid the foods that pack on the weight.
Unfortunately, this method cant possibly work in
the long term. When you make long cardiovascular
sessions part of your lifestyle, your body
quickly adjusts to the increased activity,
becoming more efficient at burning
calories. While some cardiovascular exercise is
necessary for good health, excessive cardio done
purely to lose weight, and not for the joy or fun
of the game, is not only unsustainable but will
actually give you the reverse effect! If you lose
weight by doing cardio, be prepared to do that
same cardio for the rest of your life, because
you have now programmed your body to expect it in
order to maintain your weight.
5
Reason 3 Many weight loss methods that work in
the short term physiologically are not successful
in the long term.
At the beginning of a weight loss regimen, you
are often losing mostly water weight. By simply
cutting down overconsumption of food, you are
also reducing the amount of solid food (waste)
inside your body. Because most diets immediately
get people to cut out fast food and other
prepared food, you also limit the amount of salt
in your body, further reducing your water weight.
While all three of these things are great to do,
its important to realize that as soon as you
stop the diet, all that weight will almost
instantaneously go back on. Thats because it
wasnt truly caused by a reduction of fat in your
body.
Running on a treadmill for hours a day is a great
short-term solution to losing some weight when
you have a great diet, limit your calories, and
avoid the foods that pack on the weight.
Unfortunately, this method cant possibly work in
the long term. When you make long cardiovascular
sessions part of your lifestyle, your body
quickly adjusts to the increased activity,
becoming more efficient at burning
calories. While some cardiovascular exercise is
necessary for good health, excessive cardio done
purely to lose weight, and not for the joy or fun
of the game, is not only unsustainable but will
actually give you the reverse effect! If you lose
weight by doing cardio, be prepared to do that
same cardio for the rest of your life, because
you have now programmed your body to expect it in
order to maintain your weight.
6
Reason 4 Its easier to avoid something
completely than to tease yourself with it on
occasion.
When you were on your last 90-day diet you knew
that eating a brownie, a bowl of ice cream, or
drinking a soda was out of the question. So when
you walked into Starbucks and saw that delicious
brownie in the case, you simply kept walking and
ordered your coffee because you knew without a
doubt that eating that brownie was out of the
question. Today, however, when you walk into
Starbucks, you know you are not on a 100 strict
diet so there is always the thought in the back
of your mind of that you could have just this one.
7
Reason 4 Cont.
Of course, combining this attitude with
cardiovascular exercise means you can lie to
yourself. Youll say that you can eat the brownie
now and then work it off on the treadmill
tomorrow. The problem is you probably will never
make it onto the treadmill. Even if you do, there
is no way you are going to burn enough extra
calories to make up for the junk you ate the day
before. Now youve learned these four reasons
you may be wondering how its possible to lose
weight and keep it off. The answer is to start
with the end in mind. That means a lifestyle you
are willing to sustain for a lifetime. Cut out
the foods you are willing to give up for a
lifetime and limit other foods. While you may not
be willing to give all of them up forever, find
things you are willing to massively cut back on,
thing you may even be willing to give up
completely for a short duration.
8
Reason 4 Cont.
Losing weight this way means that you first
establish a diet that will maintain your weight
and then you cut out just a little bit more in
order to lose small amounts of weight every
single week, consistently. One way of doing this
is to follow the Titanium Nutrition Revolution
formula, which breaks all foods into four
categories. The first category of foods is those
you must completely cut out during times of
weight loss and indulge in very seldom when
maintaining weight. The second category of foods
is those that you should be very careful of
eating foods you should cut out completely
unless you really love them!, If you do love
them, then simply limit the amount that you
consume. Category Three and Four foods are those
that are typically hard to abuse unless consumed
in very large volumes.
9
Reason 4 Cont.
By following this simple method of breaking foods
into four categories, you can lose weight and,
more importantly, you can keep the weight off for
a lifetime. The key during the weight loss phase
is to lose weight consistently on a daily and
weekly basis, which means you must weigh yourself
every day and ensure that you are consistently on
a slow downward trend with your weight. Instead
of giving yourself the goal of losing 30 pounds
in 90 days, you are much better off giving
yourself the goal of losing one pound per week
for the next 90 days, or even 1.5 pounds if you
want to move quickly. While that will only add up
to between 13 and 20 pounds, just imagine where
you will be in two, five, and ten years by
following this system.
10
Reason 4 Cont.
Even someone who is 150 pounds overweight can
have the body of their dreams, and keep it for
the rest of their life, in a matter of three
years or fewer, losing just one pound per week.
The key is to make sure that you never have a
week when your weight goes the wrong way. Once
you have reached your ideal weight, you must
continue to weigh yourself daily and establish a
maximum weight for yourself, which you promise
yourself you will never exceed. Focus on never
getting close to that maximum weight, but if you
ever do find yourself there, say after spending a
week on a cruise ship, or a few days of indulging
in the wrong foods, you must immediately put
yourself back into weight loss mode. You can
reach your ideal weight again. The goal is again
consistently losing one to one and a half pounds
per week until youre there. Follow this simple
process and enjoy the healthy, sexy, and
incredible body you have always wanted for the
rest of your life.
