Mazllum

• Hello my name is Mazllum and I am a senior at
  G.W. Carver H.S.E.S. I chose to participate in
  the TREES program because of Environmental
  Science. There are a lot of things that damage
  our environment and this program allowed me to
  help find some solutions. This summer I am
  working on organic insecticide that I found in
  marigolds. Im trying to see whether the organic
  insecticide works and is it better then the man
  made insecticides.

• My name is Shaneka and I am a rising senior. I
  want to go into the science field so I can help
  people get a better life. Science is a new galaxy
  and I want to explore it as much as possible.

Alisha

• Hi! My name is Alisha and Im studying at the
  Baldwin School. I enjoy learning about the
  environment. My experiment has to do with sun
  protection and skin cancer. In my experiment, I
  eradiate cells with UV light and then see if
  sunscreen can protect the cells from mutating. I
  have learned a lot about nature and Earth through
  this program. TREES is a lot of fun!!

• Anjalie is a rising freshman at the Baldwin
  School. An avid archer, her aspiration in life
  is to visit Middle Earth. In the TREES program
  she studied food safety and developed tests to
  measure the protein content of cat food without
  interference from the contaminant melamine.

• Hi My name is Maya and Im a rising senior at
  World Communications Charter School. I love
  science a lot and the TREES program made me like
  it so much better. In the future I know that I
  will be in the sciences/medical field helping
  people and saving lives.

• Im a rising sophomore of the Baldwin School.
  Through the TREES Program, I became more
  interested and aware of the environment issues
  that our generation faces. My experiment was
  focused on the massive arsenic poisoning in India.
