Study Group Focus

• We focused on the implementation of strategies
  recommended by the institute
• Each teacher discussed what they had tried and
  how well it worked or didnt work
• We gave each other tips on how to improve the
  lesson the next time
• Copies of lessons were distributed to each study
  group member

New Learning/Connections

• Implemented new and varied reading strategies
• We determined new methods of identifying
  struggling readers and identified ways to
  diagnose their specific needs.

Now What?

• Request that administrators allot time for
  Language Arts teachers to assist other content
  area teachers in determining strategies to
  utilize with struggling readers.
