Purpose
  • World History English
  • Shared Gradebook and shared grade
  • Units run between both courses (with a few
    exceptions)
  • Novels are the literary expression of the history
    being covered
  • We strive to balance work load/demand (e.g. one
    major presentation for both classes).

Problem Based Learning (PBL)
  • All curriculum is presented within a project.
  • The project is not just the final activity of the
    unit the project is the unit.
  • Technology is used to enhance the students
    learning process.

Attendance and Tardy Policy
  • This is modeled after a business environment
    come to work prepared
  • If you are not in class with your laptop ready
    when it is time for class to begin, you will be
    marked tardy.
  • 5 Tardies 1 Unexcused absence community
    service (1hour)
  • Unexcused absences community service and
    possible suspension (after 3)

Make-Up Procedure
  • School-wide policy late work may be submitted
    up until the Friday before the final week of the
    quarter.
  • Late work 0 W.E., and 60 C.L. (maximum)
  • Presentations group accountability (your team
    may impose their own sanctions/punishments)

Make-Up Procedure
  • Unexcused Absences Loss of all points on that
    assignment
  • Excused Absences You get two days for every day
    you were absent to submit missing work (not
    including weekends)
  • Remember work may be submitted from home via
    Lotus.

  • Late Work
  • Quizzes 1 week from the first day of your return
    to make up the quiz or test. After this date the
    test cannot be made up.
  • Check your grades on the grade portal
  • Contact team members or a teacher as soon as
    possible if you see a potential problem with your
    team or work.
