    Internet to locate information.
  • Teacher needs to assistance help students
    differentiate between factual information.
  • Incorporating technology into teaching aids in
    creating good citizens
  • Social Studies teachers evolve their teaching
    with technology with continual professional
    development.

Using Technology in the Classroom
  • Teachers need to model correct uses of
    technology.
  • Teachers need to be offered ongoing training and
    use this in their daily instruction.
  • Teachers are guided by NETS standards which
    instruct them to make the learning experience
    come alive.

Digital Archives
  • Teacher needs to demonstrate how to locate
    accurate historical information.
  • The Virginia Center for Digital History provides
    projects that allow students to locate
    information related to events in history.
  • These sites help expose students to local and
    global issues with teacher driven projects and
    allow students political participation.
  • Meets NETS standards 3 and 5 of improving
    students use of technology by locating and
    interpreting historical information related to
    their learning.

    tools to benefit themselves by justifying learned
    knowledge. It also helps them gather knowledge
