  regular? Is housework exercise?)

Code categorical data, i.e. assign a number to
each possible category.

Clearly specify measurement units.

• How much do you weigh (in pounds, kilograms,
  grams?)
• How much television did you watch last night?
  (hours? minutes? of shows?)

Write unbiased questions.

• Biased Do you agree that abortion, the murder of
  innocent human beings, should be outlawed?
• Biased Do you agree that there are circumstances
  under which abortion should be legal to protect
  the mother?
• Unbiased Should abortion be outlawed?

Test forms in a pilot study before using in an
actual study.

• Test on 8-10 objects or units (people, trees,
  students, etc.)
