Respect to show honor or courtesy to to show
consideration of a feeling of high regard It is
important for employees to embrace workplace
respect and courtesy in order to build a healthy
work environment

Tips on how to establish a culture of respect in
the workplace
  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • Everyone should have a clear understanding of
    their role within the organization as it relates
    to appropriate behavior
  • Equality
  • Eliminate barriers between work groups in
    the organization and embrace the uniqueness of
    everyone by encouraging discussions of
    differences and alternative points of view
  • Standards of success
  • Establish a culture that defines appropriate
    conduct and incorporates company values such as
    respect and open communication into the work
    environment
  • Perception
  • Evaluate people on the quality of their work
    and personal character, eliminate office politics
    by not prejudging individuals or assuming
    unsubstantiated facts, and be aware of unspoken
    messages, mixed signals and body language
