These slides will take you through the
recommended steps from setting up your remotes to
presenting an activity to a group. If you have

you ordered) The other CD is curriculum sample
material for schools.

Once you have verified that you have all the
contents accounted for, you are ready to begin
installing the software. If you are missing
anything or have any queries, please contact
Qwizdom on 44 (0)28 90 485 015.
16Step 2.
Install the software.
17Place the CD-Rom in your CD drive and install the
Qwizdom Interact software on your computer.
If the CD does not automatically show the screen
above, go to your CD-Rom drive, view the files on
the Interact disc and run the Setup.exe program.
18Follow the install wizard steps.
Complete the installation of software by
following the prompts. You may be asked to
restart your machine, do so if instructed by the
program.
19Step 2 complete.
Qwizdom Interact should now be installed and you
should see the icon on your desktop.
20Step 3.
Install the Host (base)
21Install the USB Host (base)
Connect the Qwizdom RF Host to your USB Port
using the supplied USB cable.
22Found new hardware wizard
- The Windows Found new hardware wizard should
detect the new device - Follow the steps in the wizard (continued on next
screen)

- Perform the installation process for a second
time - Windows should start the hardware wizard for a
second time. - Complete the installation process for the second
time.

Your base is now installed and the green light at
the front of the base should be lit now.

Set up your remotes.
31Start up Interact.
Double-click the Interact shortcut on your
desktop to launch Interact.
32Interact is now open
Lets begin by setting up and testing the remotes
33Click the remotes button on the toolbar.
34The remote setup window opens
35To begin setting up your remotes
- Click the change button
- Select Q4 or Q5 (as applicable) as the remote
type
Adjust the highest number setting to match your
remote quantity
36Time to test the remotes!
Click Test

38Switch on your remotes
Hold down the MENU key for a few seconds to
switch the remote on.
The power switch is located on the top right of
the remote.
Slide the power switch to the right.
39Your remote may ask you to enter in a session ID.
If a session ID has already been entered, you
should see this screen..

40Enter in your Session ID
Type in your Session ID on the keypad and press
the Send button.
Your session ID was in the Title Bar of the
Remote Options Window. It is also visible in the
Title Bar of the remote testing window.

41Your remote will try connect to the Host (base)

42The remote should now connect to the active Host
(base) and the number visible on the LCD screen
and Computer screen.

43Switch on all your remotes
- Make sure they all connect to the Host (base)
- Ensure all blocks light up on the screen
- When you are done testing, click the CLOSE button
(bottom left of screen)

Click the OK button to exit the Remote Options.

46Click on the Student tab
47You should see the Student section
You should also see the default class of 15 pupils
48Lets create an anonymous class to work with
- Click Class (from the menu at the top of the
screen) - Select New Class
49The Class Info window opens
- Fill in a class name
- Select Anonymous from the Type drop down menu
- Type in the number of remotes you have
- Click Done when complete

- Your class is now set up
- Click back to the Content tab

Present an Activity

Consult your reference cards for the remote
functions and how to operate them before
commencing the presentation.
54Select the sample activity
Select Activity 1 from the Tutorial Files folder
on the left, you should see all the slides on the
right of the screen.

56Presenting the activity
Click the Present button.
57The Presentation Setup window appears
You can leave all the defaults as is, or
experiment if you want to!
Click OK to present.

Click Add to record the scores/responses for this
class You can also get everyone to turn their
remotes on at this point.

The first slide will come up on the screen. You
can use your teacher remote to navigate through
the slides or click the navigation arrows on the
top left of the screen.

As you go from slide to slide the remotes will
display the answer options on their LCD
screens. You will see a number bar at the bottom
of each question slide.
As the remotes respond, the numbers begin to
light up (random colours), showing that a
response has been received.
61Step 6 complete.
After the activity is completed, Interact will
give you a message saying the activity is
complete. You have successfully presented the
activity and recorded responses!
