Plasma is a state of matter that starts as a gas
and then becomes ionized.
DEFINITION
3
There are two main types of plasma
Natural Plasmas
Artificial Plasmas
4
Natural Plasma Examples
Lighting and fire
5
Artificial Plasma Examples
Fluorescent Light and neon light
6
Astrophysical Plasmas Examples
Stars, stellar, extragalactic jets, and the
interstellar medium
7
The Northern Lights
The sun is a giant ball of supper heated plasma.
When highly charged plasma comes in contact with
the Earths plasma , it produces an electrical
discharge. When it produces that electrical
discharge, it is called Aurora borealis. Also
known as the Northern Lights.
8
Jupiter
The universe is made up of plasma. Plasma makes
up 99.9 of the universe. Jupiter is the only
thing in the universe that does not contain
plasma.
9
What Is The Temperature Of Plasma?
The temperature of the plasma is 7,500,000K with
a density of 20 g/cm3.
10
The History Of Plasma
Sir William Crookes the discovery and described
it as "the Fourth state of Matter in 1879.
