IntroductionWomen In Project Management (WIPM)
Careers Opportunity ForumAdams Hall, ADFA 21st
September 2009

• A unique event showcasing career opportunities
  for women in project management will be held at
  Adams Hall, Australian Defence Force Academy,
  Canberra, on 21 September 2009 from 1000 to 1600
  hours.
• The event is sponsored by the Special Interest
  Group (SIG) for Women in Project Management
  (WIPM) within the ACT Chapter of the Australian
  Institute of Project Management (AIPM). The aim
  of the WIPM SIG is to foster the involvement of
  women in project management and provide
  opportunities for women to meet and establish
  networks in support of mentoring and to further
  their skills in project management and related
  job families (engineering, logistics, etc).
• The event will be opened by the Governor General,
  Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, and will
  involve a number of inspirational presentations
  from senior female project managers from Defence
  (including Ms Shireane McKinnie, Head Acquisition
  and Sustainment Reform Division, DMO) and from
  project managers in the broader public sector and
  in academia.
• There will also be a range of careers information
  stands set up at the venue which will offer
  information on careers for women in project
  management and related job families and related
  education.
• Defence Materiel Organisation careers and
  Australian Defence Force careers stands will be
  staffed by female project (and related job
  family) managers who will be available to answer
  questions on Defence careers in these fields.
• Attendance at this WIPM event will be free but
  all attendees must register their attendance via
  email to ACT_Chapter_at_aipm.com.au.
