Key conclusions to be drawn on the basis of
typology of innovation barriers
Innovation barriers are very similar if not
identical in all of the 15 regions analysed
Results of survey in AC countries demonstrated
similar patterns, however different from EU
Existing regional innovation support system
often is very fragmented and not adequate to the
needs
Necessity to improve innovation support
infrastructure on the regional level
The efforts to tackle the problems resulting in
innovation barriers in most regions are of
reactive but not pro-active nature
Importance to address the issue of innovation
culture with a set of pro-active measures
