Nuclear Medicine
With Nuclear Medicine, abnormal biochemical
changes such as a cancer can be detected 3-6
months earlier than other means of detection.
  • The process is referred to as Single Photon
    Emission Computerized Tomography or (SPECT).
SPECT is similar to Computerized Tomography (CT)
in that both create tomographic images of organs
and tissue within the body. They differ in that
    SPECT images represent biochemical or
physiological processes such as cardiac function
or active cancer sites. Alternatively, CT images
only provide anatomical information such as the
location of the liver or kidneys.

12
CardiologyCardia Q
  • Unsurpassed in image quality and ease of use,
Philips' NM products deliver ideal clinical
solutions. From cardiology to oncology, neurology
    and beyond Philips offers integrated
    applications that surpass standard diagnostic
    tools.

13
  • DHE will enable clinicians worldwide to make
accurate diagnoses and improve the quality of
    cardiac care.
  • Across the cardiac care spectrum, clinicians turn
to Philips' cardiography solutions for Pagewriter
    cardiographs, holter monitoring, stress
testing, ECG management systems and advanced
    algorithm technology to make better-informed
diagnostic decisions and to more effectively
manage patient data from a variety of sources.

14
Image Fusion
Greater diagnostic confidence - Anatomic
visualization virtually eliminates second guesses
Increased efficiency -- The ability to quickly
determine the exact location of lesions saves
valuable time
15
Teleradiology Applications
  • MRI
  • Computed Tomography

16
3D Visualization and Rendering of MRI Images
Using 3D-DOCTOR
17
  • 4-D Angio Volume Rendering simply making advanced
    visualization a work of art.

Voyager is a real-time virtual endoscopy tool
that renders spiral CT data to provide
fly-through images within and around hollow
organs.

The FutureNASA Mission to Mars
A communications system that will support global
reconnaissance of the planet. This infrastructure
will also relay back to Earth the vast amounts of
information gathered through surface exploration,
sample return missions, robotic outposts and even
eventual human exploration.

Business Development Strategy
  • Focus on rural communities
  • Urban Communities participate from a rural cost
    perspective
  • Attention to the individual needs of each rural
    hospital

42
Bandwidth Aggregation
  • In remote areas bandwidth is prohibitively
    expensive
  • Typical network development is done on a circuit
    by circuit basis
  • Digital Health Exchange/Cordova Systems buys the
bigger pipes, sells off unused capacity
  • Advantage to our vendors is dealing with one
customer to develop the entire region

Final Thought
  • There is a tremendous opportunity for changing
the current status quo in rural markets.
  • Working together we can make a significant
difference in the lives of people in rural
    communities
