Green Municipal Funds
  • Two new funds announced in 2000 federal budget
    for feasibility studies and capital projects
    (25M, 100M)
  • Funds now 250 Million in 2001
  • Now 1.5 below Govt. of Canada bond rate

Green Municipal Funds
  • Support projects that improve air, water, soil,
    and climate
  • Intended for innovative, replicable projects
  • Intended for municipalities and their partners

Green Enabling Funds
  • 50 million fund
  • Provide grants to support feasibility studies
  • Cover up to 50 of eligible costs
  • Provide up to maximum 100,000 grant
  • Open to Canadian municipalities and public- or
    private-sector partners
  • Applications accepted year round

Green Investment Funds
  • 200 million revolving fund
  • Helps implement innovative projects
  • Loans up to 15 of capital costs of a qualifying
    project
  • Can provide loan guarantees
  • Payback periods 4 to 10 years
  • Grants provided to highly innovative pilot
    projects with payback periods greater than 10
    years
  • Applications accepted year round
