Living City Centre and Ontario Communities
  • The Living City Centre aims to engage leadership
from across the Greater Toronto Area in
transforming the region into one of the most

across the region are invited to join forces in
    expanding their municipal building energy
efficiency programs for the betterment of their
    communities, the province and Canada.

5
Ontario Communities Working Together
  • It is proposed that municipal governments across
the Greater Toronto Area will pool their energy
management knowledge and experience, in order to
achieve at least ONE megawatt of electrical
    demand savings during 2003.
  • The Mayors Challenge will then be extended to
other sectors interested in taking similar
collaborative action to lower energy use and
    costs. Energy efficiency benefits everyone.

6
Living City Centres Role
  • Convening a strategic planning meeting to define
the most productive areas of collaboration
  • Creating a web-accessible information system to
benchmark the energy performance and programs in
effect for different facility types in each
