Title: Can We Take BCAA and Whey Protein Together

1
Can We Take BCAA and Whey Protein Together
  • Let us look at both these things in detail. Whey
protein is obtained from milk and is said to have
9 essential amino acids. Whey protein and casein
are the two proteins found in milk. Casein
digests slowly in the body when compared to whey
protein. Whey protein is of three types whey
concentrate, whey isolate and whey hydrolysate.
BCAA stands for Branched Chain Amino Acid and
there are three important BCAAs Valine, Leucine
and Isoleucine. They are grouped together since
they have molecular structure that branches to
one side. BCAAs are required by the body as they
might help with many things such as reduction of
muscle damage and building muscle mass.

Can We Take BCAA and Whey Protein Together?
  • You can take both whey protein and BCAA together.
It wont cause any harm. In fact these days,
there are many protein supplements with BCAA in
Indian market Some popular brands are Muscle
Blaze, MyProtein, ON, GNC, etc. You can opt for
flavoured and unflavoured options depending on
your preference. Always check the amount of
protein in the product. You can compare the
protein content per scoop and the price per scoop
of each product. Many products contain Soy,
vegetable fats and oils, natural and artificial
flavouring substances, etc. and you need to read
the contents well before selecting a product. One
thing to remember is that flavoured protein
powders (such as chocolate, vanilla, etc.) tend
to contain more additives in them.
  • Your diet is also important. Dont rely only on
supplements as there is only so much they can
help. Do have a healthy meal filled with natural
protein sources like Dal, veges, etc. Each
persons protein requirement also differs based
on their age, weight, activity, diet, etc.
