2Jessica Kahal is a young, talented musician,
whose outstanding musical skills have earned her
lots of appreciation. Although she possesses an
innate talent for music, she has spent numerous
hours to develop her skills and excel in her
craft. In short, her hard work and dedication
has played a much bigger role in shaping her
success than the natural talent she was born with.
3While studying in Palos Verdes Peninsula High
School from 1999 to 2003, Jessica Kahal
participated in a number of regional, national,
as well as international level competitions. Some
of the High School Musicals (Pit Orchestra) she
participated in are Bye Bye Birdie in 2002,
Fame! in 2002, and West Side Story in 2003.

5In addition to all these activities, she played
flute solo (Mozart, Flute Concerto in D Major) at
2002 Winter Concert with Adv. Orchestra. She also
participated in Certificate of Merit Competition
(Flute Competition) in 2003. She also got the
opportunity to be a part of many popular musical
bands orchestras, including California State
University Long beach Concert Band (2003), Asian
American Youth Symphony Orchestra (2002-2003),
and many more.

8Jessica Kahal's association with renowned bands
and orchestras gave her the opportunity to meet
and learn from various well-known personalities
from the world of music. For instance, she got
the chance to work with Mr. Fesmire - the
director of Marching Band/Concert Band Mrs.
Maddaford the Choir and Jazz Choir Mr. Marino
the director of Intermediate and Advanced
Orchestra and David Benoit- the director of
Asian American Youth Symphony. Each of these
personalities helped her hone her musical skills
and improve as a musician.
