Professional Swimmer And Musician
2Jessica Kahal was a very brilliant student and
has earned huge respect as a talented musician
and a swimmer. When she was studying in Palos
Verdes Peninsula High School, she participated in
many swimming and musical competitions. In 2002,
she worked as a pool lifeguard at Jack Kramer
Club in Rolling Hills Estate, and from 2002 to
2004, she worked at concessions/box office
designation in Regal Cinemas The Avenue 13,
located in Rolling Hills Estates.
3She was very young when she began gaining
comprehensive training in music and swimming. She
showed great dedication while learning them, and
it was only due to her commitment that she
received huge respect in these two different
fields. While studying in Palos Verdes Peninsula
High School, she received many awards as well as
honors. These include National Honor Society, the
Most Improved- Frosh/Soph Water Polo in the year
1999, the Most Improved- Advanced Orchestra
(2001), MVP- Frosh/Soph Swimming (2000), and the
United States Marine Corps- Semper Fidelis
Bandsman Awards (2003). She received an award
from the Spanish National Honor Society for her
proficiency in Spanish language.
4Jessica Kahal was a member of the Marching
Band/Concert Band for 4 years. The director of
the band Mr.Fesmire worked very hard to make
this band popular among people. Other bands and
orchestras where she actively participated,
include Intermediate and Advanced Orchestra,
Choir and Jazz Choir, and High School Musicals
known as Pit Orchestra, including West Side Story
(2003), Fame! (2002), and Bye Bye Birdie (2002).
Additionally, she was a part of Asian American
Youth Symphony Orchestra whose director was David
Benoit.
5From 1999 to 2003, she participated in Girl's
Frosh/Soph and Varsity Swimming under the
guidance of her coach Ms. Juliano and Girl's
Frosh/Soph and Varsity Water Polo from the year
1999 to 2001. Jessica Kahal also has participated
in San Pedro Peninsula YMCA Swim Team where she
learned many new things from her coach Dan
Halladay.
