Identifying the problem The problem domain which
we are working is the field of data storage
management which deals with the proper storage
and recovery of lost data during disastrous
situations leading to disk crash

Identifying the application and
functionalities The applications of this on
going research is helpful in an efficient storage
management and finds solutions to various
problems in the particular topic.

Finding out the resources needed The resources
needed for this research may include a group of
computers which can form a cluster and a shared
disk. The necessary software and required tools
are to be selected for completing this project.

Analysis of the problem The specified problem
domain in this state gets narrowed down and the
problem will be stated precisely so that we start
working for a particular solution.

Analysis and Design document After finding out
the problem clearly we design the steps for the
solution and the exact time line specifying the
different stages in attaining the desired
solution.

Coding In this stage we develop a software code
required for basic operation and working of the
desired project.

Unit Testing The whole project is divided in to
modules and here we segregate these modules and
test for the correctness of the designed code and
hardware individually.

System Integration Testing The individually
tested modules are then grouped in to a whole
system and tested for working.

Customer Acceptance Testing Here we test the
system to find out whether the customer
requirements are met. This indicates the end of
the project for the proposed problem.
