• Step 1 After you have selected your
  civilization the first step is creating a
  magazine cover in the theme of your
  civilization. The cover must include, but is not
  limited to
• Color
• 3 Headlines of potential articles you would find
  in the magazine. One of your headlines will be
  the actual title of the magazine article that
  defends the success it had.
• Date and Volume of your magazine.
• Picture in color.
• Title of your magazine.
• Step 2 Furthermore, in step 2 you will take one
  of your headlines that you wrote on the cover and
  create a 5 paragraph essay (introduction, body,
  and conclusion) for the inside of the magazine.
  This section should include, but is not limited
  to
• Title
• Author (That is you!)
• Introduction (w/hook and a thesis statement, Body
  paragraphs (2), Rebuttal, and Conclusion)
• Source You must use at least 2 sources for this
  essay and cite the sources not only in the
  article, but show me a MLA work cited at the
  bottom of the article.

Final Copy Expectation Checklist

• 1. Pen/Typed All of the writing portion should
  be in pen or typed.
• 2. Color The entire magazine does call for
  color, thus it should be included.
• 3. Spelling/Grammar/Etc Do not spell your
  civilization name wrong or other common words a
  7th grader should know how to spell. Also dont
  forget question marks if you are asking a
  question. Finally, check your sentences do they
  make sense?
• 4. Mechanics Each section calls for specific
  items so use the front of the paper as a
  checklist and highlight when you have
  accomplished the task.
• 5. Work Cited You must include 2 sources in the
  essay and also show me the information about the
  author. Your sources could include our textbook,
  Mayan Chocolate article, Inca Article, Aztec
  Articles, and videos we have viewed.
• Finally use the rubric below to see how I am
  assessing your product.
