1. Jehovah
Jireh is the first compound name of Jehovah to
appear in the Old Testament, and it beautifully
expands the meaning of Jehovah's name. Gen 22
is the first chapter in the Bible where the name
Jehovah Jireh appears after the Lord showed
Himself to Abraham on the basis of meeting his
needs. When you discover how this name applies
to you, you know that Jehovah Jireh not only met
Abrabam's needs but also desires to meet your
needs. The purpose of learning God's name is
not to give you head knowledge of who he is. The
reason is to increase the closeness of your
relationship with Him. You should know who your
God is, because He wants you to know. That is
why he revealed Himself through different names.

2. Gen 221-2 And it came to pass after these
things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto
him, Abraham and he said, Behold, here I am.
And he said , take now thy son, thine only son
Isaac, whom thou lovest, and, get thee into the
land of Moria and offer him there for a burnt
offering upon one of the mountains which I will
tell thee of.

God wanted Abraham to test and prove the Word
in his own life. When this occured, Abraham was
at least 120 years and had already walked with
the Lord for almost 50 years. Faith is not a
static condition-it wasn't that for Abraham, and
it should not be that way for you. God causes
people to move from faith to faith, from glory to
glory, and from strength to strength. When God
spoke to Abraham, He was giving him an
oppurtunity to move in his faith.Abraham believed
on the God said "if God can give me a son when
I'm 99 years old He'll make sure that His
promise is kept!
6
I'm going to have seed as the dust of the earth"
Gen223 And Abraham rose up early in the
morning and saddled his ass, and took two of his
young men with him and Isaac his son, and clave
the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and
went unto the place of which God had told him.

Abraham obeyed the Lord's commandement to the
last detail by getting ready wood, sadding his
animals along with servants.
3. In book of Leviticus lists the five
different types of offerings.
(a) Consecration offering. (b) Meal
offering. (c) Peace offering. (d) Trespass
offering. (e) The sin offering.
9
The first three offferings were voluntary and
the last two were mandatory. (a) In the
consecratinon offering , which involves
consecrating one's life. There are times that are
set aside in our lives, specifically for the
purpose of seeking God and consecrating ourselves
totally to Him. Perhaps you give
10
Him special time by witnessing door to door. You
are not required to do these things. You will
not be lost if you done. do them. It is a form of
willing committal. that was the type of offering
of Issac. (b) the meal offering is similar to
our tithes that we give today. Yhe people would
bring flour or bread to offer to the Lord as a
part of their substance. It was a way of saying
"God you are the source of blessing. I consecrate
my blessing to you".
11
(c) Peace offerning was a voluntary celebrating
of peace with God. Men often bought family and
friends along with when they made this offering.
Our equivalent today might be our taking
communion together. (d) Tresspass offering was a
mandatory one It was made when one had trespassed
against a person. Trespass people from God.
Don't allow them to bring seperate into your
life. Be quick to repent of trespasses against
sin offering was also mandatory. It involved an
offering that was made when one sinned against
God. Jesus' Cross points this out for this
reason...

4. After the ram had been offered up as a burnt
offering of consecration. Abraham looked at the
place and gave it a name, Jehovah Jireh "the
revealing One Who is more than a Provider". This
name is actually taken from the verb to see in
the Hebrew. What does that mean? It means God has
seem ahead and made a provision to fill your
need! There is not a trial nor a problem that
you may be encountering that God has not
already seen and made provision to take care of.
Why? because he is Johevah Jireh. Abraham was
saying "God already had that ram prepared for me
to Sacrifice. I spoke my faith, and there was
my provision".

5. Gen 22.14 In the mountain of the Lord it shall
be seen Some translations say, He shall be
seen. Whom Abraham talking about? He was saying
"on this mountain range of Moria, the Lord Jesus
Christ shall be provided as a sacrifice for the
sins of the world
